Forgot your password?

If you have forgotten your password, please use the "Forgot Password?" option to reset it.

After clicking the "Forgot Password?", you will be asked to enter your bar/MJP number along with your date of birth.

Next, you will be prompted to select where you would like the one-time pass code sent:

  • Option 1: Email

    • Select the option to send the one-time passcode to your email address on record for State Bar communications and click "Continue."
    • Confirm your email address on file for State Bar communications by entering it in the email field and clicking "Continue."
    • Check your email inbox for a message containing the one-time passcode (this may take a few minutes).
    • If you don’t see the email, check your spam/junk folder.
  • Option 2: Phone

    • Select the option to send the one-time passcode to your private phone number, if it can receive text messages and click "Continue."
    • Verify your phone number by entering it in the mobile number field and clicking "Continue." 
    • Check your phone for a text message containing the one-time passcode.
  • Option 3: No Access to Email or Phone

    • Select the option indicating that you do not have access to your email or phone on record.
    • You will be directed to contact the State Bar's Contact Center for assistance with resetting your password.

Note: If you do not receive the one-time passcode, you can choose to resend the code using the same method or select a different method to resend it. If you still do not receive the code, please contact the Contact Center at 888-800-3400 for assistance with resetting your password.

Once you receive the one-time passcode, return to the password reset page and enter the code exactly as provided. Click "Continue" to verify the one-time passcode.

After successfully verifying the one-time passcode, you will be prompted to create a new password. The password must be between 7 to 25 characters and contain at least 1 number. Enter your new password and confirm your new password by entering it again in the confirmation field. Click "Continue" to save your new password. 

Finally, once your new password is entered and accepted, you will be presented with a confirmation of your successful password change. Click "Log in" to return to the My State Bar Profile login page to access your profile using your bar number and the new password you created.
